To report ISO/TC 211 harmonization and compatibility issues, or if you have questions on harmonization and compatibility, email the PMG Chair, Serena Coetzee (email user-id: scoetzee, email domain: cs.up.ac.za) PMG Recommendations (Date: 4 April 2011) List of PMG recommendations to date. Spatial Harmonization Opportunities (Date: 27 November 2007) Discussion paper prepared by Paul Scarponcini and contributed by the NB of USA. This paper compares the spatial types and operations specified in ISO 19107 (Spatial schema), OGC -06-104r3 (Simple Feature SQL Option), ISO/IEC 13249-3 (SQL/MM Part 3:Spatial), and ISO 19136 (Geography Markup Language GML) and suggests possible revisions for harmonizing them. Relevant standards: ISO 19107:2003, Geographic information - Spatial schema ISO 19136:2007, Geographic information - Geography Markup Language (GML) Report by PT 19140, Geographic information amendment process (Date: 18 April 2007) The report contains a compendium of the comments received by PT 19140 on the ISO/TC 211 standards, with the exception of ISO 19111, Geographic information - Spatial referencing by coordinates and ISO 19113, Geographic information - Quality, which are the subject of separate revision work items. Relevant standards: ISO 19103:2005, Geographic information - Conceptual schema language (Addressed in the current revision of 19103). ISO 19107:2003, Geographic information - Spatial schema ISO 19108:2002, Geographic information - Temporal schema ISO 19109:2005, Geographic information - Rules for application schema ISO 19112:2003, Geographic information - Spatial referencing by geographic identifiers ISO 19117:2005, Geographic information - Portrayal ISO 19118:2005, Geographic information - Encoding Report on discrepancies regarding quality (Date: 2 October 2006) This report originates from the from the stage 0 project that was initialised by Sweden as a result of observed discrepancies between ISO 19113:2002, Geographic information - Quality principles and ISO 19115:2003, Geographic information - Metadata. The main reason for these discrepancies seems to be that the 19115 team missed the difference between scope (which concerns a quality report for a dataset) and data quality scope (which concerns, for a certain data quality subelement, homogenous parts of the dataset for which quality is reported). This fundamental difference was evidently not satisfactorily explained in ISO 19113:2002, Geographic information - Quality principles or ISO 19114:2003, Geogrpahic information - Quality evaluation procedures. Relevant standards: ISO 19113:2002, Geographic information - Quality principles ISO 19114:2003, Geographic information - Quality evaluation procedures ISO 19115:2003, Geographic information - Metadata |
